| This book deals in a thoroughly modern, authoritative and yet accessible way with the fundamentals of English grammar. It covers the word classes: nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs and tenses, as well as the word strings: phrases and clauses, and sentences and their parts and structures. These chapters are preceded by an introduction on morphology and syntax. Grammar points are brought to life with clear explanations and examples taken from books and magazines. Exercises are included after the grammar explanations in each chapter.
